Thanksgiving is over

I haven't blog in awhile have been busy. Picked up extra at work since I was going to have surgery the day after Thanksgiving. Yes I did go shopping on black Friday before I had surgery. I didn't have to be at the hospital until 7:15. So me and my mom decided to go ahead and hit the shops and we did get some good deals and when we got done we went to the hospital so I could have my surgery. It went really well, except I had a lot of pain and nausea the first nite, but had to stay over and went home the next after noon. Otherwise everything doing good. My grandmother brought me over supper for my family one night which helped out a lot cause i wasn't cooking. Otherwise everythingelse is doing good.

So my friend and I decided to go to a movie and see four Christmases such a good movie have to go and see it. My 7 year old daughter went with us to see it and see did very well except she had to go to the restroom about 3 times. Then couple of weeks ago we couldn't find alot of her clothes and so i decided to clean her room and found them in the totes in her room where she keeps her toys, I was going to buy new clothes since we couldn't find them. When we tell her to clean her room she put her toys and clothes on in the totes now she is learning on bringing them down to us.

Hopefully I will be able get my Christmas shopping done early this year. Already have half of it done.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family. So the other day my daughter seems to have no clothes I have been trying to figure out where they went, I didnt know if the washing machine ate them or if she packed them up and put somewhere or took some clothes to her dads. So i decided to do a little cleaning in her room, she has totes in her room that has barbie's in one, books in another, etc. I try to have everything organize so she can find stuff. So i decided to dump the totes out and guess what i found 3 loads of laundry. So when I tell her to clean her room she cleans and put everything in her totes glad i found them so that i didnt have to go buy her new clothes.

Another Iowa City trip

I sought I better write since I haven't written anything in a while. We went back to Iowa city to get fitted for her bands and appliances in her mouth. Well her appointment was at 8am so we were their and on time. We get to the reception area and we were told that we had to go talk to the lady at the business office so we went and she was wanting me to sign the contract for Emilee stuff she had to have done. What a stress for few minutes, so she tells me that is going to cost 2200.00 that is just for the bands and appliances that not all the other stuff she has to have done later. Then the lady begins to tell me that I have to put 550.00 down today and I said you want to kiss my what____________. Sorry to be that way but who the heck has 550.00 laying around cause I don't. Then another lady came out and said they were going to send to the insurance and see what they will pay. Then we go back to see the dentist and I guess the regular dentist is no longer their so we had to see another one and scared Emilee and she started to cry and was scared cause she wasn't sure what they were going to do. Then the dentist was rude and said is she not emotional ready and I said excuse me if you had 15 surgery wouldn't you be scared too. At the age of 7 and has 15 surgery's I wonder why every time we go to Iowa City she screams wonder why!!!!!!! So we were only in their 15 minute and the dentist said her teeth weren't ready and we see you in a couple of months.

Then yesterday I had to work and my husband called and said he was going on a fire call and wouldn't be able pick up right away so I said find we will have them walk home, called the school they said that was fine. Well after school came and it was getting close to 4pm and my husband was waiting for them to come by the station cause they always comes by and he was going to grab them. Well about 4:08 he call me and wants to know where the kids are and I said I don't know I am work they were suppose to walk. So Jim goes to the school and park to look for them I try to call my sisters house and my brother in law and no one answers. So now we can t find them and I was at work scared to death so we have the school involved trying to help us find them, then to find out my brother in law had them at a doctors appointment instead of calling someone to let them know he didn't. Thank goodness they were with someone. Then my step daughter gave in some hell for not calling let me tell you something you should never mess with a pregnant women they are tough sometimes. So the rest of the story is my brother in law says its all my fault and I should have known but i didn't when he doesn't answer the phone and My kids knew what they were suppose to do. Oh well its over now. So as you can see the last few days have been stressful but are going to get better this weekend.

I have a girls nite out on Friday after work and a wedding to go to this weekend and hopefully on Sunday Connie, her cousin and I can play games so much fun!!!!

Weekend fun

This was my weekend off but was able to get off early on Saturday so I could take my kids on a hay rack ride. Thanks to Carrie for inviting us. The kids had a really a good time. They got to roast their own hot dogs which I think they loved. Then they took us on a Hayrack ride which was fun and wasn't very cold out which was nice. Then we went home and I went to sleep and got woke up by my husband having to leave, my stepdaughter lives down the street and someone was trying to break into her house. Luckily the cops came and scared the person away. Also on Saturday was homecoming and I missed out but here are a couple of pictures of her in her dress.

Yesterday we went to the West Burlington homecoming parade. Emilee got to be in the parade with her Brownie troop I think they all had fun. Then tonite is football game and then the dance tomorrow night. Just so much going on and not enough time to do anything else. Had my Daisy yesterday and we had a blast ended up with 4 extra girls which was fun so now we are going to have about 12 Daisy. Quite a few girls but will be lots of fun, thanks goodness I have help.

I have been busy the past few weeks, it seems as the fall comes I have tons of meeting and things to attend. I have been starting a couple of meeting, one is how to be a better parent, its really interesting and if you have little kids its kind of good and after the 10 week sessions on Monday you get a really neat book. Only been to one class and its lots of fun, the kids even get to go and they are in a room learning from someonelse. Next one is I am attending the Fire Dept Auxiliary to support our spouses didn't get to go to the first meeting but hopefully I will get to go to the second meeting.

I have been busy trying to figure what is wrong with my daughter she seems to have a belly ache all the time, sought it was attention but its actually something wrong we are still trying to figure it out, did put her on some prevacid and I think it is helping a little bit.

My step daughter is a Senior and tell me I think the older they get more expensive it gets at least this is her last homecoming so I should have to buy anymore dresses until Emilee is older. We went to Iowa City today and found a dress on sale, I always know how to shop, last year I found her a Homecoming dress for 3.00 this year it cost me 21.00 but still on sale.

Catching up

My vacation is about to end I have today off and Friday then back to work. It seem that the time flew by. Our Anniversary was last Thursday me and my husband went up the the Amana which was kind of neat has lots of shops never been their but had fun, then we went to Williamsburg to do some shopping then after that we headed to Iowa city then to Cedar Rapids. I havent been to the Cedar Rapids mall in a long time and was very disappointed how alot of the shops aren't their anymore, I am assuming that is because of Coralville Mall has taken over. Then we went back to Iowa City and ate at the outback never ate their and was very good and service was good I will differently be going back. We had a fun filled day.

Yesterday I had to take my daughter up to Child Development center to have her evaluated in Iowa City, it was a long tiring day for her. We found out that she very smart but she learns at a slower level so she has to learn slower then everyonelse which is fine. The only other problem is she is a little hyper not as bad just a little, she had a hard time focusing and sitting in her chair. We hope with her hearing aids that she will do better and maybe be able to listen little bit better in class. So now we just wait for the finally papers from Iowa city that tells her exact problems.

For the people who don't know I am in my second year as being a Girl Scout leader. I am not doing my daughters as she has two leaders but I am my niece leader. I sometimes help with my daughters when I am not working. We had our first family meeting, I felt alot better about the meeting this year then I did last year. Its so much fun being a leader when I first was asked to help I was wondering what I was getting my self into. But for the most part its been fun and its fun to see the girls have fun. We have a much a fun activities ahead and I cant wait its going to be fun.

Vacation time

My husband is I am on VACATION from work which is really nice this will be the first year we actually get a vacation together usually we don't get to be off together. We actually had some good time off. The kids have been at school all day and the weather has been wonderful so we are getting some stuff done around the house I have been wanting done. Hopefully on Thursday we are going to take a mini vacation since it will be our Anniversary don't know where we are going but are going somewhere.

First Day of School

Thursday was the first day of school, I think the kids had a good day. My son came home and told me that he sought this year was going to be a good year for him. The last few years he has gotten kicked out of school near the end cause this one kids would pick on him and Anthony don't take any crap and hits back and he is always the one getting into trouble, but the one kid is not in now of his classes this year and even not in his lunch I think he said he was in morning recess but he does not see him much I hope its a good year. Emilee had a good day too, except her hearing aids weren't working got some fresh batteries so on Monday we will try them again.


I had my final surgery Thursdays to help my bladder. When I came out I was more sick and alot of pain. Took me couple more days to get better and had to take pain meds and man do i hate taking them you always feel weird and every time I fall asleep i dream really weird. Doing alot better today so I haven't taken any pain med still sore just trying to do with out and taking it easy.

Getting ready for school

Last week we went to the eye doctor to get our eyes check for school, I usually do all three kids at the same time or we go same time. They took my step daughter back first and was fast but when it came time for the little ones they were slow, I think we were their for 2 hours. Then I finally get done with Emilee and we pick her up some glasses and then I was going to help Stephanie to decide what she wants and they had already took care of everything was kind of upset cause I wanted to help her and they didn't even asked me what I wanted to do. Stephanie has two different insurance I would have put the glasses thru my insurance but instead they put her contacts and then it was to late. My stepdaughter said they were being pushy I told her next time tell them you want to wait for you mom.

So had a very good weekend once a month we have a girls nite or day out their is 8 of us and we all have a month and we have to decide what we want to do. One of the girls had us come over and we all brought stuff to eat and then we played Dance, Dance, Revolution on the xbox that was fun not very good. Then we watch a movie but think we all had fun, we missed Kelly and Tasha. Then on Sunday My husband has way toooo many clothes so I did some cleaning moving stuff around. I gave my husband my dresser, gave my son his dresser and I kept my sons dresser. The dresser my son has is my mom when she was in High school and it is still in good shape. For the next 19 days I am going to be off 4 of the days I will be recovering from another surgery to help my bladder then hopefully vacation time with my family and we have a Anniversary coming up.

Surgery

Thursday I had to have surgery, I had called a interstim but in the back of my tailbone on the nerve of my bladder to stimulate it so I don't go as much, some days I go as many as 12 times a day . Right now I have a Temporary stimulater on and if its work which is I will have permanent one in the week or 2. Everyone wanted to know why I don't try medicine well I have and none of it work but this new thing I got really works kind of weird. Sometimes I feel like oh my god I haven't gone to the bathroom yet. I will test it out when we go to Iowa City on Monday and see how many times we have to stop. Since I had this surgery I wasnt able to go out with girls nite out to the scavenger hunt was really tired, realize I was taking pain meds wrong I was taking every 4 hours instead of I should have taken every 6 hours, I should read stuff when you have alot of meds from the hospital have someonelse read for you lol. Sorry girls I really missed out sound like they had a blast guess we have to plan another one another time.

Canton IL.

I went to Canton IL, this weekend to go to my husband class reunion. We usually stay with his mother but his one sister still had alot of her stuff still in the one bedrooms so we got a hotel at baymount Inn. We checked into our hotel on Friday was able to get and no problems, Came back about midnight could not get into our room some reason the door handle was stuck so we had to get help to get in after half hour standing out side we got into our hotel. Then Saturday morning we leave to go into town we were having trouble shutting our door so I tell them we are going to be gone if they could fix our door, they said no problem they would look at it and try to fix, so we come back late that nite and cant get into our room, so I go back to the desk and they tell me they totally moved our room and our stuff, kind of made mad, They should gave me a discount i guess they did took a whole 10.00 off my bill I guess that is better then nothing.



Now since you heard about my hotel problem I guess I could tell you how the class reunion went. Now the people who don't know me know that Jim is 10 years older then me so when I was at the class reunion I think I was the youngest one they probably sought I was in my 20's cause I look so young (some days i wish i was still in my 20s lol). I have learned alot going to this class reunion that some people just never change. I got to meet alot of people that my husband ran around with, then you get to see the one that are better then everyonelse. I guess they never change. Friday nite they had a thing at the bowling alley, no one really bowled just more of a drunk fest if you want my opinion, yes Connie be so proud of me I didn't drink anything at all this weekend except for pop. Then on Saturday we had a dinner at the Golf club we had really good food. They had a raffle where you can buy some tickets and put your name on them and put it in a box to win a basket with Canton Little Giants that is where my husband went to school and yes they drew is name, he was excited. Something else that we learned at the class reunion that their was another couple that is from Burlington Iowa, kind of weird Jim never new. We had a really good time other wise being away from home. My husband enjoyed seeing his family.

Conference

I went to a Ectodermal Dysplasia seminar in Iowa City on Friday. Probably wanting to know what the heck that is, Me and My daughter Emilee were born with it, its not very common but is affect few people, their is only 3 people in Burlington Iowa that has it, me, Emilee and another girl I have met. It affects your hair, teeth, skin and sweat glands. Anyways went to this seminar and learned alot even though I was only their for a few hours met some really interesting people. Emilee and I are not affected as bad as some of these people, some don't have hair, some don't have teeth at all. Some has so dry hands and scalp that they have sores on them. Me and Emilee are blessed and are not as bad as some of the people we saw on Friday. The next seminar will be next July and I sure am going to save up and try to go so I can learn more and be able to be their for all 3 days, the next one is in Virgina so that will be neat. I learned alot so I should be able to help Emilee out alot with some of her medical problems. Back when I found out we didn't know anything or how to get help they even help you get your insurance to pay for dentures, Emilee probably have to have dentures since she wont get all her teeth if you are ever interested to learn more you can go to www.nfed.org. Well it was the neatest seminar and while I was at the seminar they had a day camp for kids. To drop your child off you had to have your picture taken with her then you had to get a bracelet with the same number that she had and sign her in so when I went to pick her up they had to see the bracelet number and look up our pic so they new she was going with me and not someonelse which was so safe and nice to know that not anyone could pick her up. She got along with the kids and the weirdest thing was a few of them kind of looked like her or had features that reminded me of Emilee kind of weird but lots of fun and cant wait to go next year.

Iowa City Trip to the Dentist

Emilee had to have 4 of her teeth pulled. I tried to keep her up until late so she could have a bed night snack, well she made it up until about 10:00 had a snack and went to bed I sought she would sleep until 9 wrong answer she was up by 715am and poor girl was hungry so I had her take a shower then we read some books. I tried to keep her busy until we left town. I even went with out eating so I would hurt her feelings. We got to Iowa City and Emilee did excellent job I was so proud of her. They were going to give her something to drink to sedate her and then they put the IV in but the nurse, we had talked her into having nothing to drink and putting some cream on her arm to numb it and then about 30 mins later he ended up put an IV in and she did awesome I was so shock she didn't even cry. So they let me stay in until they got her already, they wanted to but some oxygen on her while they sedated her and started crying cause she was scared, told her it would be ok and finally she said in a little tiny voice. "I guess I could give it a try". It only took them about 10 min or less to do it and the doctors and nurses told me when I went back that she was a wake and did a very good job, they said she was taking during the procedure. So Emilee did a excellent job we were so proud of her. Her friend Brittney and I think that helped. So she is doing fine now.

I sought I try something different out, I have been on my space but don't right blogs that much on their and wanted to try this out, few of my friends have one and I wanted to try it out. I am not a good writer but going to give it a try. I have 4 children, 2 is mine and 2 is his. My kids are 11 year old boy and 7 year old girl who thinks she is 16. My husband has a 17 year old and 21 year old girls. I know your thinking wow she must be young which I am but, my husband is 10 years older then me but he is a wonderful husband, most of the time. My stepdaughter that is 21 year old is having a baby. NO i am not going to be a grandma, not yet. Even thinking that at the age of 33 that I going to be a grandma I don't think so, ill have to find me a name to call me until I want to be called grandma.

My stepdaughter the 17 year old just got her Drivers License last Friday and she was already to drive around the town and drive to her friend, well when her dad said not yet lets gets some more experience then she can drive. Was not very happy about that.

Now my 7 year old daughter she is so funny, she went to her dads the other day and since her dad had to work Saturday morning he dropped them back off at the house. In the meantime, I am still in bed told the kids to wake me up when they get their, wont do that again they decided they would not wake me up and saw my cell phone out let me tell you, ya don't need to memorize numbers no more cause we got cell phones and the numbers are already programmed in the phone and mine was lying on the counter so my children decided to call my nephew since they new he was with me dad and left a message on his phone that no one was here, so that they would come pick them up, except we were in bed sound asleep, I heard them running around the house so I got up, its kind of funny cause if you heard the message you would of died laughing. So now I set my alarm and I get up and I put my cell with me in my room. Kids learn fast on how to use cell phones.

So tomorrow we are headed up to Iowa City for my 7 year old to have 4 teeth pull has to have them pulled for a surgery that will be coming up in about 1 year so they have to get ready for it. Like I said I am not very good writer or a speller so forgive me just sought I give it a try.
